Kangaroo sightings in Australia

Every season of Threshold has involved travel, because the best way to get good audio is to record it in person. Because we don’t have an infinite budget, the planning process—lining up interviews, buying tickets, getting from place to place—is also a process of maximizing what we can do with the time and resources we have.

For Amy’s recent trip to Australia, it turned out that the best way to interview a lot of people and cover the vast distances between communities in rural Western Australia was to drive! One side effect of this decision: lots (and lots) of road kangaroos.
