Are you an amphibian aficionado or someone who wants to amplify and celebrate the voices of our web-footed friends? Threshold's current season, Hark, is all about listening to the more-than-human world, and in an upcoming episode, we hope to feature frogs and toads from every continent where they live.
If you have a recording to share or want to make one when frogs and toads start calling in your area, we would love to hear it!
How To
Recording frogs is easy! All you need is a phone.
To record on your phone, open the built-in “Voice Memos” app on an iPhone or a similar “Voice Recorder” app on an Android phone, then press the record button to start capturing audio.
The microphone is located on the bottom of your phone, so it helps to turn it so the mic is in the direction of the sound you’re trying to record.
Record at least 30 seconds if you can (but please still send in sound if you can't). Once you have the audio file, you can attach it to an email or if you find the file is too big to send as an attachment, there are a few relatively easy solutions:
If you use Google Drive, upload it there and share a download link with us.
Alternatively, services like WeTransfer or Dropbox will allow you to set up a free account, upload files, and share them with our team.
Whichever method you use to deliver your file, before you click send, be sure to include your name and where in the world you recorded your sound.
